WHAT YOU WOULD DO

We are seeking an Engineering Director working in Hanoi.

As an Engineering Director, you will be responsible for providing guidance, instruction, training, and leadership skills to inspire the team to perform at their optimum.

• Collaborate with Product Director & cross-functional team to determine Medici product roadmap that aligns with the broader company’s vision
• Monitor the Medici’s platform structure, be responsible for execution/delivery of projects to achieve the business objectives.  Responsible for the final deliverables and results of all activities regarding the success of the projects.

• Research on new promising technologies and designing of new features. Monitor reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements.

• Manage the team & outsourcing vendors/ contractors through critical projects, making hard tradeoffs between scopes, engineering capacity, and time constraints as well as handle conflicts well and build consensus to meet the progress and quality of the projects. Supervise, assign, review to ensure the quality of application operation execution to achieve outlined goals in development strategy of technical solutions.

• Supervise, recruit, develop and mentor a team of high-quality engineering talents including Mobile, Front-end and Back-end development teams and their projects.

• Write and update internal documents with the technical lead.

• Review technical requirements with technical leads and solution architects. Ensure high quality and completeness of requirements breakdown into tasks

• Foster agile way of working between tech & product function

• Demonstrating leadership, management and coordination ability among team members & business owners/ partners.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE

Skills and Experience 

• A bachelor or postgraduate’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years professional software development experience for large-scale enterprise software solutions such as fintech, ecommerce, banking, insur-tech & healthtech (plus point)
• 3+ years management experience leading software engineer team (more than 30 members) (must have).
• Former Head of Engineering, Engineering Director, etc. are preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Track record of managing, recruiting, and retaining talented engineer and develops effective teams.
• Results-oriented with ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• A true team player with great interpersonal skills, communicate effectively in both internal and external teams.
